In February, FRI conducted Foundation Field Manager Bootcamps (FMBs) in Melbourne and Sydney to help more than 30 field managers learn how to overcome issues in their challenging role. FRI's two-day Foundation FMBs has now been delivered to thousands of field managers internationally and continues to deliver vital skills, knowledge and strategies that enable field managers to immediately increase their effectiveness in how they engage, motivate and mentor franchisees. It is also one of the first programs in Australia to receive the Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) accreditation by the Franchise Council of Australia and the Institute of Certified Franchise Executives.

Field managers have a tough job, often on the road working alone, striving to protect the brand and make a real difference to franchisee performance. To succeed they need a unique combination of courage, emotional intelligence and business savvy. Foundation FMBs are designed specifically for field managers, as well as franchise executives who are seeking new tools for driving franchisee satisfaction and success.

Ten sessions were delivered over the two day program, which included the '8 Functions of the Field Manager Role', 'Coaching Franchisees for Improved Performance', 'Dealing with Communication Challenges', 'The Franchise E-Factor model' and 'Maintaining a Metrics Mindset'. Bootcampers were all actively involved in group discussions and workshops, sharing best practice with their peers and focusing on evidence based techniques and models. They were able to develop and demonstrate knowledge that can be immediately applied to their work, helping them be more effective and successful when out in the field.
